Rutenio Poveda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 4 minutes into the game, Alonso Bacciarini was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Talcampeón FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monumento Sports the free kick. In the 4th match minute, Talcampeón FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonso Bacciarini to maneuver through the defense. Monumento Sports's Amadeu Koehler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yeray Lisperguer in the 11th minute of play. Rutenio Poveda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Arruda in the 13th minute of play. Toninho Arruda helped the player get up and apologised. In the 20th match minute, Monumento Sports was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Arruda to maneuver through the defense. Cornelio Marcou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Monumento Sports's Eliézer Favoretto got a free kick in the 26th minute. A collision led to Monumento Sports getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Giovanni Souto hit a great ball. Yeray Lisperguer charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yeray Lisperguer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Monumento Sports booed when Talcampeón FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yeray Lisperguer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Toninho Arruda made the kick off in the second half. Rutenio Poveda made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Nando Sousa sent off a good shot on target. 54 minutes into the match, Monumento Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Cornelio Marcou came free, but Amadeu Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cornelio Marcou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Yeray Lisperguer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nando Sousa in the 71st minute of play forced Talcampeón FC's goalkeeper Rutenio Poveda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 73 minutes, Eliézer Favoretto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monumento Sports and the Talcampeón FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 73rd match minute, Monumento Sports was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer Favoretto to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Talcampeón FC's Rutenio Poveda got control of the ball when Nando Sousa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Monumento Sports's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Talcampeón FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Monumento Sports fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 95th minute. Penalty! The Monumento Sports supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Monumento Sports would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
