The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cesar Ritchie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Ramiro Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute of the match, Igor Abreu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Zeledon Hitz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 8th match minute, Pendotiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulão Quirino to maneuver through the defense. Zeledon Hitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulão Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 17 minutes into the game, Wilfredo Transito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Lorenzo de Sarandi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pendotiba the free kick. A collision led to San Lorenzo de Sarandi getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Wilfredo Transito hit a great ball. 23 minutes into the match, Pendotiba's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Florian came free, but Ramiro Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pendotiba's Cacá Salles managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Wilfredo Transito in the 25 minute of the game. After 26 played minutes Pendotiba got a freekick which was hit by Paulão Quirino. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melquiades Amor in the 31st minute of play forced Pendotiba's goalkeeper Ramiro Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Paulão Quirino fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pendotiba's protests and gave Paulão Quirino a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Paulão Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Nicanor Florian in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pendotiba's goalie prevented a goal. Ramiro Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicanor Florian in the 37th minute of the match. San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Zeledon Hitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Igor Abreu in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão Quirino in the 40th minute of play forced San Lorenzo de Sarandi's goalkeeper Zeledon Hitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nicanor Florian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramiro Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicanor Florian in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Paulão Quirino got his second yellow card in the match during the 56th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Pendotiba getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Paulão Quirino hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the game, Nicanor Florian recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ramiro Dias. Nicanor Florian showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. In the 64th minute, Nicanor Florian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute, Cesar Ritchie left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Lorenzo de Sarandi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 73rd minute, Rony Trevisan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramiro Dias made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cesar Ritchie in the 80th minute. San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Nicanor Florian got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicanor Florian in the 83rd minute of play forced Pendotiba's goalkeeper Ramiro Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Nicanor Florian kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ramiro Dias. That made the score 0-4 in the 89 minute of play. In the 94th minute, San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Nicanor Florian dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. San Lorenzo de Sarandi walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
