The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fulgencio Castulo hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 7th match minute, Bolsodios was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Heli to maneuver through the defense. When Hílton de Brito fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vila Zumbi's protests and gave Hílton de Brito a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Vila Zumbi's Hílton de Brito got a free kick in the 12th minute. A collision led to Vila Zumbi getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Vicente Branco hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute Sílvio Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Salvidor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hílton de Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Salvidor having to interfere. After 27 played minutes Vila Zumbi got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Branco. In the 34th minute, Sílvio Queirós ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gaspar Salvidor was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 42 minutes into the match, Vila Zumbi's goal looked a bit too open when Paulino Ganix came free, but Hermínio Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute of the match Bolsodios got a corner. Vila Zumbi's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Benicio Gerazan ran over to the corner to take the kick. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 57th minute, Sandro Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bolsodios's defense didn't have a chance, in the 67th minute, when Silas de Lima scored to the left of an out of position Gaspar Salvidor, making the score, 0-3. If Sílvio Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gaspar Salvidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zézinho de Lima in the 73rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Natalio Seguinus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bolsodios's supporters rose to their feet, but Natalio Seguinus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermínio Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Vila Zumbi defense, Fulgencio Castulo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hermínio Silva. The Vila Zumbi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hermínio Silva should have stopped the shot. Silas de Lima hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodoro Heli during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd minute Sandro Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Salvidor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Sandro Seco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vila Zumbi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4.
