In the 8th minute AYYILDIZ were awarded a corner. Bektaş Ali Enginalp went to the cornerflag to take it. After 14 minutes, Cazimir Zăraşcu made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. AYYILDIZ's Mümin Çubuk tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Sergiu Angheluță made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Koray Savtuna sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Champions Iasi defense, Tansu Bağışhan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sergiu Angheluță. The Champions Iasi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sergiu Angheluță should have stopped the shot. Hasan Özpolat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AYYILDIZ's Mümin Çubuk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cazimir Zăraşcu in the 30th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Okanalp Kutlubay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the game, Okanalp Kutlubay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AYYILDIZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Champions Iasi the free kick. The supporters of Champions Iasi booed when AYYILDIZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Okanalp Kutlubay didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute of the match Costică Perșa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mümin Çubuk showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Champions Iasi's Sergiu Angheluță got control of the ball when Koray Savtuna tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute Tansu Bağışhan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergiu Angheluță saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Champions Iasi's Sergiu Angheluță played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hasan Özpolat in the 42nd minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Champions Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Selim Tezeren came free, but Sergiu Angheluță reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tansu Bağışhan made a kick off. George Vâlcu's late challenge caught a AYYILDIZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. George Vâlcu helped the player get up and apologised. After 53 played minutes Champions Iasi got a freekick which was hit by George Vâlcu. In the 54th minute, Tansu Bağışhan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AYYILDIZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. George Vâlcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Champions Iasi's Sergiu Angheluță played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tansu Bağışhan in the 62nd minute of play. After 63 played minutes AYYILDIZ got a freekick which was hit by Bektaş Ali Enginalp. After 64 played minutes, Champions Iasi's George Vâlcu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mümin Çubuk came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Champions Iasi reached it. Halit Ziya Sadri hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Tansu Bağışhan kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. The supporters of AYYILDIZ booed when Champions Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costică Perșa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ioan Jupâneanu hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Sergiu Angheluță showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tansu Bağışhan, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Cazimir Zăraşcu took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Mümin Çubuk to make any attempt to save it. When the referee ended the match the AYYILDIZ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
