Poldi Pfenniger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vancouver Reds's Heriberto Walton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joseph Suter in the 22nd minute of play. Heriberto Walton was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Poldi Pfenniger showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Vancouver Reds's goalkeeper Heriberto Walton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robin Meier. The supporters of Vancouver Reds booed when B68 Toftir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Everett Vonlanthen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Jarrett Poirier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vancouver Reds's supporters rose to their feet, but Jarrett Poirier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tímon Weiner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 36 played minutes Vancouver Reds got a freekick which was hit by Geoffrey Roach. In the 41st minute of the game, Poldi Pfenniger landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 41 minutes into the game, Geoffrey Roach was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vancouver Reds's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave B68 Toftir the free kick. Felicien Zehntner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Heriberto Walton made a huge save. 47 minutes into the game, Philip Korner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. B68 Toftir's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vancouver Reds the free kick. After 47 played minutes B68 Toftir got a freekick which was hit by Philip Korner. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Felicien Zehntner in the 52nd minute of play forced Vancouver Reds's goalkeeper Heriberto Walton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 56 minutes into the game, when Geoffrey Roach put in a rough tackle. 55 minutes into the game, one of Vancouver Reds:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Vancouver Reds:s Heriberto Walton showed great skill when he stopped Pascal Schneider:s penalty. After 60 played minutes Vancouver Reds got a freekick which was hit by Marshall Valenzuela. 66 minutes into the game, Quincy Minor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vancouver Reds's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave B68 Toftir the free kick. Heriberto Walton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pascal Schneider in the 67th minute of play. With a little luck, B68 Toftir's Tímon Weiner got control of the ball when Jarrett Poirier tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Vancouver Reds's Quincy Minor got a free kick in the 75th minute. Pascal Schneider was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 76th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Vancouver Reds defense, Joseph Suter kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Heriberto Walton. The Vancouver Reds fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Heriberto Walton should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Meier in the 85th minute of play forced Vancouver Reds's goalkeeper Heriberto Walton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robin Meier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Heriberto Walton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, B68 Toftir's Joseph Suter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Heriberto Walton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Thanh Dodd hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. After having played for 93 minutes, Pascal Schneider managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. B68 Toftir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pascal Schneider was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Heriberto Walton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseph Suter in the 96th minute of the match. B68 Toftir's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
