Gildas Montaut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Boleslaw Trela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roman Zawada charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roman Zawada the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Heide FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Roman Zawada hit a great ball. Lucien Decottignies took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Boleslaw Trela. Heide FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Herblay booed when Heide FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Slawomir Majtyka didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, Norbert Debowy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute, Mieszko Siwy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Boleslaw Trela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Charles Gauche in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mieszko Siwy in the 33rd minute of play forced Herblay's goalkeeper Norbert Domenech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herblay's Norbert Domenech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jurand Jarocewicz in the 36th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thierry Cottard during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 39 played minutes Herblay got a freekick which was hit by Thierry Cottard. After 40 played minutes, Heide FC's Norbert Debowy shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Norbert Domenech came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Heide FC reached it. In the 45th minute, Heide FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dove Roig fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 46th minute of the match, Gildas Montaut got a very nice opportunity to score, but Boleslaw Trela was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Boleslaw Trela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jean-Charles Gauche in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jurand Jarocewicz made a kick off. Ulryk Barycz hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 52nd minute of the match Lucien Decottignies shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Boleslaw Trela showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Thierry Cottard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Boleslaw Trela was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Boleslaw Trela didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gildas Montaut went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 60 minutes into the game, Iwo Werra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Heide FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Herblay the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Lucien Decottignies managed to get in a good position for a shot. Herblay's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucien Decottignies was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boleslaw Trela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Norbert Domenech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulryk Barycz in the 70th minute of the match. A collision led to Herblay getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Redouane Caffier hit a great ball. After 72 played minutes, Heide FC's Norbert Debowy shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Norbert Domenech came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Heide FC reached it. Boleslaw Trela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dove Roig in the 74th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 78 minutes into the game, when Mustapha Guilbert put in a rough tackle. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Herblay! In the 87th minute, Jonathan Samuel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulryk Barycz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norbert Domenech read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jurand Jarocewicz in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norbert Domenech saved Herblay from getting behind. Herblay's Norbert Domenech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jurand Jarocewicz in the 97th minute of play. Heide FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
