The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo O IRIXO's goalkeeper Leonardo Romani had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Noel Severiano. Francisco Vilela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doroteo Huguet, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After 10 minutes AM United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Macerio Sarro who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Club Deportivo O IRIXO's corner Pello Cameno fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Francisco Vilela quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo O IRIXO's Amador Rivas got a free kick in the 12th minute. After 15 minutes Club Deportivo O IRIXO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hermano Gaspar who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Hermano Gaspar got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leonardo Romani quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Leonardo Romani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermano Gaspar in the 17th minute of the match. If Cássio Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute Hermano Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Romani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 29 minutes, Indalecio Morcego managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Deportivo O IRIXO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Indalecio Morcego was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hermano Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francisco Vilela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doroteo Huguet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the AM United defense, Pello Cameno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francisco Vilela. The AM United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francisco Vilela should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Inácio Telinhos managed to get in a good position for a shot. AM United's supporters rose to their feet, but Inácio Telinhos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonardo Romani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Club Deportivo O IRIXO's Leonardo Romani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermano Gaspar in the 47th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Noel Severiano got free with Leonardo Romani in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Club Deportivo O IRIXO were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hermano Gaspar made a kick off. Leonardo Romani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noel Severiano in the 52nd minute of the match. Inácio Telinhos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 55th minute Inácio Telinhos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Romani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonardo Romani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermano Gaspar in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermano Gaspar in the 67th minute of play forced Club Deportivo O IRIXO's goalkeeper Leonardo Romani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Inácio Telinhos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pello Cameno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Vilela having to interfere. In the 87th minute Hermano Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Romani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pello Cameno came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Francisco Vilela could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Indalecio Morcego in the 90th minute of play forced AM United's goalkeeper Francisco Vilela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hermano Gaspar fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AM United's protests and gave Hermano Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd minute, Hermano Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
