If Herwig Fehr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tarik Faber charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tarik Faber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 17 played minutes SV Bad Harzburg got a freekick which was hit by Tarik Faber. The audience was convinced that Claudemiro Bezerra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerald Zapf was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Gerald Zapf came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by AM United's Noel Severiano. But to his dismay, Noel Severiano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. A hard shot 33 in the game by Herwig Fehr from a close distance when the talented Francisco Vilela managed to make a qualified save. AM United's players were relieved. After 37 minutes of play, AM United's Claudemiro Bezerra made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerald Zapf was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gerald Zapf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Telinhos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SV Bad Harzburg's Gerald Zapf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Brás in the 42nd minute of play. After 44 minutes, Alexandrino Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AM United and the SV Bad Harzburg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alexandrino Castro hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Peer Hörster made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, AM United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inácio Telinhos to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, SV Bad Harzburg's Frido Sandkühler tried to score from far away in the 53rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 56 played minutes AM United got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Soares. Francisco Vilela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frido Sandkühler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute Herwig Fehr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Vilela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerald Zapf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudemiro Bezerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Loy Köhncke hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After having played for 69 minutes, Manuel Sales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AM United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Sales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Herwig Fehr kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After 75 played minutes AM United got a freekick which was hit by Severino Santos. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Herwig Fehr put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Francisco Vilela. Claudemiro Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Gerald Zapf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Noel Severiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Schrappe's late challenge caught a AM United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emanuel Schrappe helped the player get up and apologised. Emanuel Schrappe hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Claudemiro Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Gerald Zapf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Claudemiro Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in SV Bad Harzburg's zone, Claudemiro Bezerra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerald Zapf came out of the goal and Claudemiro Bezerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95th minute Frido Sandkühler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Vilela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched AM United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
