After 3 played minutes, RIVER's Eleuterio Milio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Edelmiro Ticho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in RIVER reached it. Roman Hernandez charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roman Hernandez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 4th match minute, Almeyra F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roman Hernandez to maneuver through the defense. Honorato Astigar kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Lázaro Ascencio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edelmiro Ticho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerardo Ixaka in the 9th minute of the match. Anselmo Esdras succeeded in the game's 11th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Nicasio Mendebal hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. A collision led to Almeyra F.C. getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Baldomiro Gonzales hit a great ball. In the 17th minute, Nicasio Mendebal made a precise shot to the right of Edelmiro Ticho. Almeyra F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After a rather tough play, Almeyra F.C.'s Arsenio Semeno got a free kick in the 22nd minute. A collision led to Almeyra F.C. getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Alejo Gizon hit a great ball. After 25 played minutes Almeyra F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Lázaro Ascencio. 28 minutes into the game, one of RIVER:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The RIVER fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. 42 minutes into the game, RIVER's Anselmo Esdras nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edelmiro Ticho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Gerardo Ixaka struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Edelmiro Ticho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RIVER. After the first half RIVER were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roman Hernandez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 51 minutes, Edelmiro Ticho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Moises Lore fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Almeyra F.C.'s protests and gave Moises Lore a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th match minute, Almeyra F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejo Gizon to maneuver through the defense. Almeyra F.C.'s Edelmiro Ticho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Almeyra F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 63rd minute, Gerardo Ixaka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee felt a red card was in order, 65 minutes into the game, when Arsenio Semeno put in a rough tackle. Blas Canor didn't quite understand what happened when in the 67 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Almeyra F.C.'s Edelmiro Ticho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Higinio Nofre in the 69th minute of play. Higinio Nofre could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Edelmiro Ticho made a huge save. Narciso Jerrald came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Almeyra F.C.'s Lázaro Ascencio. But to his dismay, Lázaro Ascencio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. Eleuterio Milio hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Edelmiro Ticho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Higinio Nofre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Anselmo Esdras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alejo Gizon kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Higinio Nofre in the 91stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edelmiro Ticho, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 92 minutes of play, RIVER's Anselmo Esdras made it 2-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edelmiro Ticho was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Almeyra F.C.'s Alejo Gizon got a free kick in the 96th minute. Eleuterio Milio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 97th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
