After a rather tough play, AFC United's Gilen Tejada got a free kick in the 4th minute. 6 minutes into the match, AFC United's goal looked a bit too open when Hubert Eisenberg came free, but Pedro Torrens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, AFC United's Honorato Zubillaga got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 9th minute, Lutz Ertel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Torrens was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Charro Pereceira might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alf Kleinert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Charro Pereceira ran back to his position shaking his head. If Charro Pereceira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 22 minutes, Lalo Buenaga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lalo Buenaga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 25th match minute, Hertha 1969 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adi Köhler to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Torrens was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hubert Eisenberg showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 27 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karsten Wolsch during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Karsten Wolsch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Torrens having to interfere. After 38 played minutes AFC United got a freekick which was hit by Roegelio Moyua. After having played for 39 minutes, Karsten Wolsch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hertha 1969's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karsten Wolsch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lalo Buenaga in the 40th minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Alf Kleinert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alf Kleinert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Covillas, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lutz Ertel to strike the kick off in the second half. Pedro Torrens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lutz Ertel went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Lalo Buenaga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Alf Kleinert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th match minute, AFC United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Covillas to maneuver through the defense. Alf Kleinert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roegelio Moyua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hector-Luis Conllas in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alf Kleinert saved Hertha 1969 from getting behind. In the 72nd minute, Anton Aicher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th match minute, AFC United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teofilo Pardelas to maneuver through the defense. 87 minutes into the match, AFC United's goal looked a bit too open when Lutz Ertel came free, but Pedro Torrens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charro Pereceira in the 91st minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Alf Kleinert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd match minute, AFC United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilen Tejada to maneuver through the defense. Hertha 1969's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
