Hertha 1969's Andi Godescheid got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 5th minute, Xavier Landeros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alf Kleinert was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Zuñiga came free, but Alf Kleinert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nico Bell during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With an all-out effort, Hertha 1969's Mancio Arana threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lutz Ertel, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bautista Bausa in the 47th minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Alf Kleinert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lutz Ertel made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Hertha 1969's Anton Aicher nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mancio Arana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 55th minute, Mitxaut Matias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 59 minutes of play, Hertha 1969's Andi Godescheid made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mancio Arana was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mancio Arana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andi Godescheid in the 73rd minute of the match. Mancio Arana didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lutz Ertel went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andi Godescheid in the 77th minute of play forced Ajax Colombiano's goalkeeper Mancio Arana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute, Karsten Wolsch left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hertha 1969 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-3. After having played for 83 minutes, Maxim Nissen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anton Aicher took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mancio Arana. Mancio Arana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-3. The supporters of Ajax Colombiano booed when Hertha 1969 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nico Bell didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the Hertha 1969 players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
