Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Egídio Fernandes took the kick off in the first half of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vitinho Secco during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Guarani Futebol Clube's Vitinho Secco got a free kick in the 2nd minute. After some careless play in the Guarani Futebol Clube defense, Dan Godeanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacinto Tavares. The Guarani Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacinto Tavares should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Republica Ploiești's Cristinel Bădoi got a free kick in the 16th minute. After 20 played minutes Republica Ploiești got a freekick which was hit by Nichifor Micescu. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Republica Ploiești's goalkeeper Pompiliu Hâncu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Guarani Futebol Clube's Jacinto Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucian Luțu in the 26th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Ernani de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Costel Lepuș recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute Dan Godeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cosmin Chiriță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Jacinto Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucian Luțu in the 44th minute of play forced Guarani Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Jacinto Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pompiliu Hâncu made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Egídio Fernandes sent off a good shot on target. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When Ernani de Lima fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guarani Futebol Clube's protests and gave Ernani de Lima a yellow card for diving instead. The goalkeeper, Jacinto Tavares, was totally fooled by Republica Ploiești's Costel Lepuș, who 53 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Jacinto Tavares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dan Godeanu went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Pompiliu Hâncu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egídio Fernandes in the 63rd minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Guarani Futebol Clube fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Jacinto Tavares, was totally fooled by Republica Ploiești's Costel Lepuș, who 76 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Costel Lepuș managed to get in a good position for a shot. Republica Ploiești's supporters rose to their feet, but Costel Lepuș was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosmin Chiriță in the 83rd minute of play forced Guarani Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Jacinto Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guarani Futebol Clube's Jacinto Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucian Luțu in the 85th minute of play. Costel Lepuș charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Costel Lepuș the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 88th minute, Costel Lepuș hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute, Dan Godeanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacinto Tavares was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. Pompiliu Hâncu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egídio Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 100th minute. Republica Ploiești's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
