Spectators: 48 (Terracing: 37, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Márk Kovács kicked off to start the match. The supporters of Sporting Cristal booed when Templars FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Turri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jon Iruegas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Márk Kovács's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. André Courtois made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tobias Larsson in the 10th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Staffan Apelqvist got free with Jon Iruegas in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Staffan Apelqvist came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Templars FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Staffan Apelqvist couldn't finish the play. André Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Luciano, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Fernanco Peso scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of André Courtois, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 27th minute, Staffan Apelqvist fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. André Courtois made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Luciano in the 29th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Templars FC's Jon Iruegas threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Márk Kovács, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Templars FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Staffan Apelqvist in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute Christian Luciano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Courtois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Sporting Cristal getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Ludomil Kolba hit a great ball. Jon Iruegas made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Ziya Onur Muzaffer sent off a good shot on target. Cazimir Gogea charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cazimir Gogea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sporting Cristal getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Cazimir Gogea hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the game, Templars FC's Márk Kovács nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jon Iruegas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Sporting Cristal's Frank Tassotti was substituted for Claudinei Suarbol. Sporting Cristal's Hüseyin Turan Elçibey was substituted for Tobias Larsson. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernanco Peso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Phoenix in the 55th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Cristal's zone, Joaquin Phoenix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jon Iruegas came out of the goal and Joaquin Phoenix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jon Iruegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Staffan Apelqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 played minutes Sporting Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Cazimir Gogea. After some careless play in the Sporting Cristal defense, Márk Kovács kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jon Iruegas. The Sporting Cristal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jon Iruegas should have stopped the shot. In the 68th minute, Cazimir Gogea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Sammut struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Jon Iruegas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Templars FC. Delfino Rosario's late challenge caught a Templars FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delfino Rosario helped the player get up and apologised. After 73 played minutes Sporting Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Delfino Rosario. Cazimir Gogea got his second yellow card in the match during the 74th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 75 played minutes Sporting Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Cazimir Gogea. Josef Kožíšek missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 76 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Jon Iruegas right hand side. Ritchie Engelborgh kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 88th minute Staffan Apelqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Iruegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jonathan Sammut had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 98 minutes into the game, Staffan Apelqvist cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jon Iruegas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Templars FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Sporting Cristal for a fine match.
