The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabi Martinelli got free with Sebastião Xoxe in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Norbert Major might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Raimo Ülend. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Norbert Major ran back to his position shaking his head. Korona Kielce's Raimo Ülend played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norbert Major in the 20th minute of play. If Stefanos Stefanopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Sebastião Xoxe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute of the match, Chesney Summers got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sebastião Xoxe was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 36 minutes into the match, Pogoń Szczecin's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Macedo came free, but Sebastião Xoxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led Korona Kielce's Dave Legzdins to fire away a dangerous shot which Sebastião Xoxe despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 41st minute Darko Pančev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimo Ülend saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Chesney Summers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sebastião Xoxe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastião Xoxe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sebastião Xoxe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Korona Kielce made a substitution. The audience was convinced that Roberto Firmino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sebastião Xoxe was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Korona Kielce's Raimo Ülend proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Korona Kielce from getting a goal against them.
