The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Alfredo Martins made a precise shot to the right of Vitor Cordoba. Litoral EC - CIMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Vitor Cordoba came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins. But to his dismay, Alfredo Martins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Joseph Joestar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Dida Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joseph Joestar in the 24th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Alfredo Martins cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Vitor Cordoba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vitor Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Litoral EC - CIMZ made a substitution. José Augusto Quirino replaced Paulinho Penha. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredo Martins to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Litoral EC - CIMZ's Steven Bergwijn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dida Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marquês de Herval were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Litoral EC - CIMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gao Xiang Guang took the corner. The corner ended in Gao Xiang Guang almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Litoral EC - CIMZ's Vitor Cordoba did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Bergwijn in the 64th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Litoral EC - CIMZ were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Marquês de Herval's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joseph Joestar took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Jonathan Petri heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Litoral EC - CIMZ's Vitor Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Martins in the 68th minute of play. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Bergwijn in the 70th minute of play. 72 minutes in the game Andy Six did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to José Augusto Quirino. Joseph Joestar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dida Taffarel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute Litoral EC - CIMZ were awarded a corner. Joseph Joestar went to the cornerflag to take it. Litoral EC - CIMZ's Joseph Joestar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dida Taffarel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Litoral EC - CIMZ's Vitor Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Martins in the 76th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Marquês de Herval's zone, Steven Bergwijn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dida Taffarel came out of the goal and Steven Bergwijn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th match minute, Litoral EC - CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Urban to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Gao Xiang Guang hit a great ball. When Joseph Joestar came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Litoral EC - CIMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joseph Joestar couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew the final whistle, Marquês de Herval could leave the field as winners, despite Litoral EC - CIMZ having more of the ball for most of the match.
