Ahmad Reza Asadi made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Alfredo Martins sent off a good shot on target. Alfredo Martins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ahmad Reza Asadi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Murilo Paes in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 14 minutes into the match, Santos Campineiro's goalkeeper Ahmad Reza Asadi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by German Cano. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidnei Baptista in the 16th minute of play. Cristiano Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Santos Campineiro's Ahmad Reza Asadi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Martins in the 33rd minute of play. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrício Baloy in the 35th minute of play. German Cano might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ahmad Reza Asadi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. German Cano ran back to his position shaking his head. After 42 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ahmad Reza Asadi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Santos Campineiro's Luiz Fernando Souza was substituted for Sidnei Baptista. Santos Campineiro made a substitution. Maicon da Silva replaced Cristiano Antunes. In the 49th match minute, Santos Campineiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidnei Baptista to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santos Campineiro's goalkeeper Ahmad Reza Asadi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fabrício Baloy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Dida Taffarel made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgar Pitta during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 66 minutes into the match, Santos Campineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Martins came free, but Ahmad Reza Asadi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Marquês de Herval fans cheered their team off the field, for while Santos Campineiro had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
