After 15 minutes of play, Cura del Futbol's Jimeno Geofredo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anton Björnberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Albino Zenteno hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Haakon á Borg made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Florencio Jax sent off a good shot on target. When Cura del Futbol's Jörn Helström in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vatan Enfal was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Inter de Chillán's Vatan Enfal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haakon á Borg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jörn Helström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Anton Björnberg made a huge save. Haakon á Borg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vatan Enfal, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Cura del Futbol's goal looked a bit too open when Mercurio San Martín came free, but Haakon á Borg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Inter de Chillán booed when Cura del Futbol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Gombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cura del Futbol's goalkeeper Haakon á Borg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mercurio San Martín might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haakon á Borg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Haakon á Borg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Vatan Enfal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Haakon á Borg was relentless in the 95th minute of the game.
