Mexilhão F. C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vatan Enfal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-7. Inter de Chillán's Florencio Jax was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Intxixu Porregimon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Inter de Chillán supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Inter de Chillán would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
