After some careless play in the Italy defense, Alberto Maranhense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Antognoni. The Italy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Antognoni should have stopped the shot. In the 12th minute, Carmine Di Piazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Antognoni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zabal Villanueva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Italy's Bruno Antognoni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zabal Villanueva in the 16th minute of play. Armando Natalucci might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dino Roberto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zabal Villanueva to make the kick off. Villadeatese FC's Dino Roberto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Villadeatese FC from getting a goal against them. Italy's Armando Natalucci was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 56th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
