Davor Saller made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Neymar in the 19th minute of play forced Hansa Rostock's goalkeeper Davor Saller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25th play minutes Júnior Neymar shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Davor Saller and just under the crossbar into goal. 28 minutes into the match, Hansa Rostock's goal looked a bit too open when Júnior Neymar came free, but Davor Saller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The US Albenga fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when US Albenga's Júnior Neymar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Davor Saller was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. The supporters of Hansa Rostock booed when US Albenga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Lucidi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hansa Rostock's Davor Saller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júnior Neymar in the 46th minute of play. The Hansa Rostock players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. US Albenga were winning 0-7.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ashley Bäßler to make the kick off. Ilja Wöllner kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Hansa Rostock's Davor Saller proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Hansa Rostock from getting a goal against them. In the 75th minute, Ashley Bäßler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Júnior Neymar came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the US Albenga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júnior Neymar couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Júnior Neymar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Davor Saller was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. US Albenga's Alvaro Nobile managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Dan Haug in the 85 minute of the game.
