Okan Ergüç sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Okan Ergüç came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Artvin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Okan Ergüç couldn't finish the play. 11 minutes into the match, Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Okan Ergüç came free, but Damiano Pizzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artvin FC's Ahmet Boran Turay managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Achille Marra in the 16 minute of the game. Okan Ergüç fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damiano Pizzi having to interfere. Mustafa Necati Denizer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Damiano Pizzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Alvise Raimondi in the 23rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Artvin FC's Mustafa Necati Denizer. When Alvise Raimondi fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barcelona's protests and gave Alvise Raimondi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 24th match minute, Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvise Raimondi to maneuver through the defense. Damiano Pizzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Okan Ergüç, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Barcelona's zone, Okan Ergüç stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damiano Pizzi came out of the goal and Okan Ergüç tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 32 minutes, Merih Ulutaş mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Artvin FC and the Barcelona players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Merih Ulutaş hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 33 played minutes Artvin FC got a freekick which was hit by Bahtiyar Kağan. Mustafa Necati Denizer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mustafa Necati Denizer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Alfredo Basso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mustafa Necati Denizer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Camillo Di Loreto made a kick off. Saadettin Baştugay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camillo Di Loreto in the 55th minute of play. In the 60th minute Camillo Di Loreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saadettin Baştugay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barcelona's Damiano Pizzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Okan Ergüç in the 62nd minute of play. Artvin FC's Sertaç Taştan got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Saadettin Baştugay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Camillo Di Loreto in the 65th minute of the match. Saadettin Baştugay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Di Meo in the 66th minute of play. Saadettin Baştugay came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Barcelona's Alvise Raimondi. But to his dismay, Alvise Raimondi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When Artvin FC's Okan Ergüç in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barcelona's goalie prevented a goal. 75 minutes into the match, Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Okan Ergüç came free, but Damiano Pizzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artvin FC's Saadettin Baştugay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Di Meo in the 77th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Artvin FC's Merih Ulutaş seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Merih Ulutaş the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Artvin FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Merih Ulutaş had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Artvin FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Barcelona:s goal. In the 84th minute there was a penalty for Barcelona. Carlo Sarnelli stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Saadettin Baştugay. 3-0. In the 86thth minute of the game Camillo Di Loreto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Artvin FC's Saadettin Baştugay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Saadettin Baştugay came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Barcelona's Federico Piccone. But to his dismay, Federico Piccone quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. After having played for 92 minutes, Alex Di Meo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barcelona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Di Meo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alex Di Meo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saadettin Baştugay having to interfere. Artvin FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
