Ahmed Mazzid struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Mauricio Tallia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sanfrecce Hiroshima. Roman y Gero FC's Matias Rivas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Cheikha Drioueche, made in the 28th minute of the game. Gilberto Cresencio charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilberto Cresencio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd match minute, Roman y Gero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Cresencio to maneuver through the defense. Mauricio Tallia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmed Mazzid in the 34th minute of play. Matias Rivas kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 37th match minute, Roman y Gero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Cresencio to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Sanfrecce Hiroshima's Fouad Al-Jazairia got a free kick in the 38th minute. Alfredo Herena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Mansour Harkouk made a huge save. Cheikha Drioueche made in the 44th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Roman y Gero FC's Matias Rivas. After some careless play in the Sanfrecce Hiroshima defense, Alfredo Herena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mansour Harkouk. The Sanfrecce Hiroshima fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mansour Harkouk should have stopped the shot.

The supporters of Sanfrecce Hiroshima booed when Roman y Gero FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gualterio Policarpio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Victoriano Pabla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roman y Gero FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Victoriano Pabla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mansour Harkouk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mansour Harkouk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Cresencio in the 59th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Herena in the 60th minute of play forced Sanfrecce Hiroshima's goalkeeper Mansour Harkouk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 62 played minutes, Roman y Gero FC's Gualterio Policarpio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mansour Harkouk came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Roman y Gero FC reached it. Yazid Bahari kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After 80 minutes, Evaristo Gombal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Roman y Gero FC and the Sanfrecce Hiroshima players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Roman y Gero FC! The referee gave Sanfrecce Hiroshima a penalty, 83 minutes into the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Cresencio in the 91st minute of play forced Sanfrecce Hiroshima's goalkeeper Mansour Harkouk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Delmar Obano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mansour Harkouk having to interfere. 98 minutes into the match, Alfredo Herena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mansour Harkouk. Sanfrecce Hiroshima's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfredo Herena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sanfrecce Hiroshima players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Roman y Gero FC.
