When Ahmed Mazzid came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Sanfrecce Hiroshima fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmed Mazzid couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Di Meo got free with Mansour Harkouk in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yazid Bahari kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Sanfrecce Hiroshima's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Camillo Di Loreto scored to the left of an out of position Mansour Harkouk, making the score, 2-0. Camillo Di Loreto struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Mansour Harkouk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barcelona. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sanfrecce Hiroshima's goalkeeper Mansour Harkouk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Camillo Di Loreto in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mansour Harkouk saved Sanfrecce Hiroshima from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Camillo Di Loreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Mansour Harkouk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mansour Harkouk came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Barcelona's Alex Di Meo. But to his dismay, Alex Di Meo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camillo Di Loreto in the 88th minute of play forced Sanfrecce Hiroshima's goalkeeper Mansour Harkouk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ahmed Mazzid received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Damiano Pizzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Sanfrecce Hiroshima getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Fouad Al-Jazairia hit a great ball. Barcelona were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
