Abdelmalek Sifi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cody Hall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Young Wolfe in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abdelmalek Sifi saved Gothenburg FC from getting behind. Abdelmalek Sifi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Albert Handy in the 29th minute. Mohammad Kaci Diafat charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mohammad Kaci Diafat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Young Wolfe to strike the kick off in the second half. Karim Djebar charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Oxford United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albert Handy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Gothenburg FC booed when Oxford United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Handy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belmadi Djamel got a throw-in 70 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Hicham Harkouk. Abdelmalek Sifi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Young Wolfe in the 75th minute of play. Cody Hall might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abdelmalek Sifi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cody Hall ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Young Wolfe in the 84th minute of play forced Gothenburg FC's goalkeeper Abdelmalek Sifi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that Oxford United were the better team. Oxford United's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
