He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hansa Rostock reached it. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Wilbur Cortez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 17th minute, Ilja Wöllner made a precise shot to the right of Rolland Bonilla. Mena FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Ashley Bäßler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hansa Rostock's supporters rose to their feet, but Ashley Bäßler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. With an all-out effort, Mena FC's Davor Saller threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wilbur Cortez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Len Post recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Mena FC's Wilbur Cortez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Davor Saller narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Owen Stevens reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Davor Saller. The goal made the score 2-1. After 41 played minutes Mena FC got a freekick which was hit by Wilbur Cortez. Wilbur Cortez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Wilbur Cortez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Davor Saller having to make a save. Hansa Rostock's Davor Saller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosario Hart in the 77th minute of play. Mena FC's Rosario Hart quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Frank-Ulrich Küpper, made in the 79th minute of the game. After having played for 80 minutes, Wilbur Cortez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mena FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilbur Cortez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wilbur Cortez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Davor Saller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Hansa Rostock's goal looked a bit too open when Len Post came free, but Davor Saller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hansa Rostock's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
