Gothenburg FC's Faouzi Boutabout managed to work through Barcelona's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Faouzi Boutabout dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Hicham Harkouk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Damiano Pizzi made a huge save. Alex Di Meo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdelmalek Sifi having to interfere. Camillo Di Loreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Barcelona booed when Gothenburg FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ali Mimoun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camillo Di Loreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Abdelmalek Sifi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rdth minute of the game Faouzi Boutabout who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barcelona's Damiano Pizzi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 32nd minute, Camillo Di Loreto made a precise shot to the right of Abdelmalek Sifi. Gothenburg FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Abdelmalek Sifi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Camillo Di Loreto in the 35th minute of the match. Barcelona's Damiano Pizzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faouzi Boutabout in the 37th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Faouzi Boutabout in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damiano Pizzi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alex Di Meo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdelmalek Sifi having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
Gothenburg FC's Abdelmalek Sifi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camillo Di Loreto in the 55th minute of play. After 55 minutes of play, Barcelona's Camillo Di Loreto made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abdelmalek Sifi was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Camillo Di Loreto in the 59th minute of play forced Gothenburg FC's goalkeeper Abdelmalek Sifi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Barcelona's Camillo Di Loreto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Abdelmalek Sifi. Abdelmalek Sifi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Alex Di Meo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Abdelmalek Sifi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 67th minute, Camillo Di Loreto made a precise shot to the right of Abdelmalek Sifi. Gothenburg FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camillo Di Loreto in the 71st minute of play forced Gothenburg FC's goalkeeper Abdelmalek Sifi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Federico Piccone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Barcelona's Camillo Di Loreto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Abdelmalek Sifi. That made the score 0-6 after 83 minutes of play. 0-7 became the score in the 88th minute when Alfredo Basso elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After having played for 95 minutes, Faouzi Boutabout managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gothenburg FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faouzi Boutabout was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Gothenburg FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Barcelona were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
