Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jonathon Seymour started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Jonathon Seymour had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolland Bonilla. Mena FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonathon Seymour was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Owen Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute, Mena FC's Wilbur Cortez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nolan Bannister. Nolan Bannister yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. A sloppy throw-in by Del Baca in the 21st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Shamokin FC's Jerrod Dean. Owen Stevens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Nolan Bannister tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Owen Stevens fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jake Ball hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Nolan Bannister made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilbur Cortez in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, Mena FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rosario Hart to maneuver through the defense. A throw-in in the 37th minute of the game was made by Jake Ball with Tomas Key as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Rolland Bonilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathon Seymour, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute Shamokin FC were awarded a corner. Boyd Grant went to the cornerflag to take it. Teodoro Cora thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Rolland Bonilla, a very annoying self made goal in the 40th minute which led to 1-2. In the 43rd minute Owen Stevens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nolan Bannister saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Claudio Chambers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilbur Cortez made a kick off. The supporters of Shamokin FC booed when Mena FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilbur Cortez didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 62nd minute of the game. One of Mena FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Shamokin FC:s goal. After 68 played minutes Mena FC got a freekick which was hit by Owen Stevens. In the 69th match minute, Shamokin FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Key to maneuver through the defense. Wilbur Cortez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Wilbur Cortez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
