Hansa Rostock's Timur Pilz got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 6 minutes into the game, Hansa Rostock's Ashley Bäßler nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abdelmalek Sifi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Timur Pilz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdelmalek Sifi having to interfere. Tobias Holstein's late challenge caught a Gothenburg FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tobias Holstein helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Hansa Rostock's Tobias Holstein got a free kick in the 11th minute. Belmadi Djamel made in the 14th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Hicham Harkouk immediately put the ball in play. 19 minutes into the game, Hansa Rostock's Timur Pilz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abdelmalek Sifi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Abdelmalek Sifi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Timur Pilz's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute Siegfried Gabler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdelmalek Sifi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leif-Eric Arnim hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Abdelmalek Sifi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timur Pilz in the 28th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Hansa Rostock got a freekick which was hit by Ilja Wöllner. Timur Pilz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdelmalek Sifi having to interfere. 38 minutes into the game, Hansa Rostock's Ilja Wöllner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ashley Bäßler to strike the kick off in the second half. Ashley Bäßler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdelmalek Sifi having to interfere. Ilja Wöllner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Abdelmalek Sifi made a huge save. In the 54th minute, Ashley Bäßler reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Abdelmalek Sifi. The goal made the score 0-5. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Ashley Bäßler sped through Gothenburg FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Abdelmalek Sifi. In the 64th minute, Ilja Wöllner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gothenburg FC's Abdelmalek Sifi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ashley Bäßler in the 66th minute of play. Abdelmalek Sifi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilja Wöllner in the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Dan Haug hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abdelmalek Sifi was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Ashley Bäßler capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ashley Bäßler really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. The supporters of Hansa Rostock booed when Gothenburg FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mohammad Kaci Diafat didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tobias Holstein got free with Abdelmalek Sifi in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 79th minute, Timur Pilz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abdelmalek Sifi came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Hansa Rostock's Ilja Wöllner. But to his dismay, Ilja Wöllner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. 84 minutes into the game, Ilja Wöllner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-9. Abdelmalek Sifi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Ilja Wöllner kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Abdelmalek Sifi. That made the score 0-10 in the 90 minute of play. In the 94th match minute, Hansa Rostock was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leif-Eric Arnim to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ilja Wöllner in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abdelmalek Sifi saved Gothenburg FC from getting behind. When the match was over Hansa Rostock could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gothenburg FC throughout the match.
