Aldo Skinner charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jamal Leon in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nolan Bannister prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 53 played minutes Hillsville AF got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Bauman. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Donnie Guzman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shamokin FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Donnie Guzman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benedict Timmons breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hillsville AF's goalkeeper Benedict Timmons, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rick Frost blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benedict Timmons having to make a save. 65 minutes into the match, Shamokin FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zackary Pierson came free, but Nolan Bannister reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donnie Guzman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Benedict Timmons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Shamokin FC's Rick Frost sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benedict Timmons narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Hillsville AF fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Hillsville AF's Guillermo Bauman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Benedict Timmons showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathon Seymour in the 73rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donnie Guzman in the 74th minute of play forced Hillsville AF's goalkeeper Benedict Timmons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 75 played minutes Hillsville AF got a freekick which was hit by Josiah Zavala. Hillsville AF's Guillermo Bauman got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of Shamokin FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hillsville AF:s goal. In the 85th minute of the game, Hillsville AF got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. In the 89th minute of the game Jake Ball made a throw-in which Boyd Grant played forward. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgil Ruff during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Hillsville AF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgil Ruff to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Shamokin FC booed when Hillsville AF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Bauman didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rick Frost came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Shamokin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rick Frost couldn't finish the play. The Hillsville AF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hillsville AF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
