Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ashley Bäßler started the match with the kick off. 2 minutes into the match, Hansa Rostock's Ashley Bäßler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mansour Harkouk narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Hansa Rostock getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Werner Jahn hit a great ball. Kasdi Harkouk took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Davor Saller. Hansa Rostock's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ahmed Mazzid blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Davor Saller having to make a save. In the 9th minute, Ashley Bäßler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 11th minute, Ashley Bäßler left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hansa Rostock fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Hamid Kouici made in the 16th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Cheikha Drioueche. Fouad Al-Jazairia kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Sanfrecce Hiroshima's Mansour Harkouk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilja Wöllner in the 29th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Ilja Wöllner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hansa Rostock's supporters rose to their feet, but Ilja Wöllner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mansour Harkouk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hansa Rostock's Dan Haug got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Timur Pilz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mansour Harkouk. Sanfrecce Hiroshima's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Timur Pilz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Ilja Wöllner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Mansour Harkouk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ahmed Mazzid to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Ilja Wöllner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mansour Harkouk was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. In the 55th minute, Fouad Al-Jazairia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ashley Bäßler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Mansour Harkouk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Hansa Rostock's Werner Jahn got a free kick in the 59th minute. 61 minutes into the game, Hansa Rostock's Timur Pilz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mansour Harkouk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. In the 63rd minute, Ahmed Mazzid hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Ashley Bäßler managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 71st minute, Timur Pilz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hansa Rostock fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. After 75 played minutes Hansa Rostock got a freekick which was hit by Ashley Bäßler. If Ashley Bäßler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Dan Haug had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mansour Harkouk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ashley Bäßler in the 82nd minute of play. Mansour Harkouk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ilja Wöllner's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Cheikha Drioueche hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. If Ashley Bäßler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Timur Pilz took a quick shot and it went in 0-9 without a chance for Mansour Harkouk to make any attempt to save it. If Timur Pilz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hansa Rostock's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
