Gothenburg FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Yahia Belkacem was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nolan Bannister breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Shamokin FC's Donnie Guzman got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathon Seymour in the 18th minute of play forced Gothenburg FC's goalkeeper Mouloud Mekhloufi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yahia Belkacem in the 19th minute of play forced Shamokin FC's goalkeeper Nolan Bannister to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd match minute, Shamokin FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aldo Skinner to maneuver through the defense. Mouloud Mekhloufi came out of the goal and Jonathon Seymour tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yahia Belkacem in the 37th minute of play forced Shamokin FC's goalkeeper Nolan Bannister to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gothenburg FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! Rick Frost fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mouloud Mekhloufi having to interfere. After having played for 46 minutes, Yahia Belkacem managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gothenburg FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yahia Belkacem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aldo Skinner charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aldo Skinner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Shamokin FC's Aldo Skinner got a free kick in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
Rick Frost blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mouloud Mekhloufi having to make a save. Mouloud Mekhloufi was a little too slow when Jonathon Seymour got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Shamokin FC's zone, Yahia Belkacem stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nolan Bannister came out of the goal and Yahia Belkacem tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Boyd Grant came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Shamokin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boyd Grant couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Jonathon Seymour's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mouloud Mekhloufi was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathon Seymour in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mouloud Mekhloufi saved Gothenburg FC from getting behind. Jake Ball made in the 75th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jonathon Seymour. Rick Frost received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Mouloud Mekhloufi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rick Frost sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mouloud Mekhloufi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathon Seymour in the 79th minute of the match. Mouloud Mekhloufi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathon Seymour in the 80th minute of play. Gothenburg FC's attentive Madhi Benbitour managed to snatch the ball when Tomas Key made a throw-in in the 84th minute of the game. After 85 played minutes Gothenburg FC got a freekick which was hit by Brahim Medjani. Jonathon Seymour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Jonathon Seymour sped through Gothenburg FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mouloud Mekhloufi. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonathon Seymour during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fadhil Yahi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Nolan Bannister tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rick Frost kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, Gothenburg FC's goalkeeper Mouloud Mekhloufi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rick Frost. Shamokin FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
