Federico Piccone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davor Saller having to interfere. Hansa Rostock's attentive Dan Haug managed to snatch the ball when Achille Marra made a throw-in in the 21st minute of the game. Ashley Bäßler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damiano Pizzi having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Camillo Di Loreto made a kick off. Damiano Pizzi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ilja Wöllner went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. 55 minutes into the game, Camillo Di Loreto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barcelona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hansa Rostock the free kick. In the 55th minute, Camillo Di Loreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Davor Saller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camillo Di Loreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After 57 minutes of play Barcelona's Alfredo Basso was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Ashley Bäßler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hansa Rostock's supporters rose to their feet, but Ashley Bäßler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damiano Pizzi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hansa Rostock's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
