If Ivaylo Yordanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. U21 Portugal's Isidoro Vilarinho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Havier Regaño in the 46 minute of the game.

In the 51st minute, Ivaylo Yordanov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 54 minutes into the game, Jordão Vasques was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Portugal's Ricardo Vasques was substituted for Moisés Álvares. U21 Portugal's Xavier Carvalhal was substituted for Ivaylo Yordanov. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. One of U21 Venezuela:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of U21 Portugal:s goal. Xavier Carvalhal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gaufred Enriquez having to make a save. Gaufred Enriquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xavier Carvalhal in the 93rd minute of the match. Beila Cacho struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Antero Linhares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Venezuela. After 95 played minutes U21 Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Normando Macena. The U21 Portugal fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. U21 Venezuela were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
