Bernhard Haavistu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erland Boberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The Burnley FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernhard Haavistu should have stopped the shot. Erland Boberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Bernhard Haavistu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bernhard Haavistu came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Birmingham City F.C.'s Erland Boberg. But to his dismay, Erland Boberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. The Birmingham City F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Birmingham City F.C.'s Luis Alberto Suárez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zhivko Kudev got free with Bernhard Haavistu in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erland Boberg in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernhard Haavistu saved Burnley FC from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Luis Alberto Suárez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernhard Haavistu was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Alberto Suárez in the 62nd minute of play forced Burnley FC's goalkeeper Bernhard Haavistu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernhard Haavistu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Amador Rubio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernhard Haavistu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dariusz Czciborek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Zacharzewski in the 94th minute of the match. Birmingham City F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
