Jem Pomidorov's late challenge caught a Birmingham City F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jem Pomidorov helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd match minute, PAIDAGOGOS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jem Pomidorov to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute Tzvetelin Kopoev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teobald Piszczor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ikonom Chushev fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. But to his dismay, Luis Alberto Suárez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Dariusz Czciborek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldemar Spychalski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Amador Rubio got free with Teobald Piszczor in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 73rd minute, Erland Boberg reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Teobald Piszczor. The goal made the score 3-3. Birmingham City F.C.'s Peycho Zvezdanov was substituted for Zhivko Kudev. In the 78th minute Mieszko Jucha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dariusz Czciborek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Stayko Bobekov came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Birmingham City F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stayko Bobekov couldn't finish the play.
