After a defensive mix-up in Burnley FC's zone, Amador Rubio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernhard Haavistu came out of the goal and Amador Rubio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgar Zacharzewski charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edgar Zacharzewski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th match minute, Burnley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Zacharzewski to maneuver through the defense. Luis Alberto Suárez took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernhard Haavistu. Bernhard Haavistu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Luis Alberto Suárez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Birmingham City F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Alberto Suárez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernhard Haavistu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th match minute, Burnley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eino Klaas to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, Erland Boberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernhard Haavistu. Burnley FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erland Boberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After a rather tough play, Burnley FC's Kaupo Jänes got a free kick in the 37th minute. Luis Alberto Suárez scored 0-6 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernhard Haavistu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Luis Alberto Suárez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Luis Alberto Suárez made a precise shot to the right of Bernhard Haavistu. Burnley FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Luis Alberto Suárez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Bernhard Haavistu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Burnley FC's goal looked a bit too open when Erland Boberg came free, but Bernhard Haavistu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

In the 52nd minute of the match, Luis Alberto Suárez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bernhard Haavistu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After some careless play in the Burnley FC defense, Luis Alberto Suárez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernhard Haavistu. The Burnley FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernhard Haavistu should have stopped the shot. Luis Alberto Suárezs short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Bernhard Haavistu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 58 minutes into the match, Erland Boberg notched a goal, 0-9, to the right of Burnley FC's Bernhard Haavistu. Bernhard Haavistu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A hard shot 61 in the game by Erland Boberg from a close distance when the talented Bernhard Haavistu managed to make a qualified save. Burnley FC's players were relieved. Erland Boberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Bernhard Haavistu made a huge save. In the 67th minute, Luis Alberto Suárez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Birmingham City F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-11. Luis Alberto Suárez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernhard Haavistu having to make a save. Birmingham City F.C.'s Stayko Bobekov was substituted for Ikonom Chushev. Erland Boberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Bernhard Haavistu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Amador Rubio struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Bernhard Haavistu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Birmingham City F.C.. When Amador Rubio came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Birmingham City F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amador Rubio couldn't finish the play. The Burnley FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Birmingham City F.C. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
