But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cuero Buseth couldn't finish the play. Alvi Verde's Téo Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorian Moraes in the 4th minute of play. Téo Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Dorian Moraes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Téo Leite having to make a save. After 28 minutes Marquês de Herval's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Attila Kiss who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Leandro Heidemann heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Dida Taffarel had great luck who in the 36thth minute grab hold of the ball when Leandro Heidemann from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After 41 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's Dorian Moraes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Téo Leite was left in no man's land by his defense there! 48 minutes into the match, German Cano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Téo Leite. Alvi Verde's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that German Cano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Martins made a kick off. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Heidemann, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute Peker Suersan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvi Verde's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Attila Kiss in the 85th minute. The corner led Alvi Verde's Giovanni Hermes to fire away a dangerous shot which Dida Taffarel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 86 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Endura. Alvi Verde's Téo Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by German Cano in the 92nd minute of play. Téo Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The Marquês de Herval supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Marquês de Herval would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
