After 13 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jan Figlewski was left in no man's land by his defense there! A hard shot 18 in the game by 庄辉雄 from a close distance when the talented Dida Taffarel managed to make a qualified save. Marquês de Herval's players were relieved. Jan Figlewski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Gonzalez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan Figlewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Martins in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute Marquês de Herval were awarded a corner. Moussa Kabre went to the cornerflag to take it. Dida Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raphael Paraense in the 33rd minute. Lei Yong Yue received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dida Taffarel came out and tried to block the shot, but Lei Yong Yue slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 37th minute. Malin Karolev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Taffarel having to interfere. With a little luck, Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel got control of the ball when Raphael Paraense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dida Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Lei Yong Yue sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 庄辉雄 in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dida Taffarel saved Marquês de Herval from getting behind. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

German Cano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Jan Figlewski made a huge save. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malin Karolev in the 54th minute of the match. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Malin Karolev in the 58th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Malin Karolev came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute Qu Yao Yang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lei Yong Yue in the 74th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Abutres 2003 FDP's goalkeeper Jan Figlewski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorian Moraes. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 庄辉雄, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 91st minute, Fatih-Sultan Mehmet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute of the match Moussa Kabre sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jan Figlewski skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malin Karolev in the 93rd minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Lei Yong Yue had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dida Taffarel. Marquês de Herval's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lei Yong Yue was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Abutres 2003 FDP fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marquês de Herval had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
