The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Candido Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Hernando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Mero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Northern California's Fidel Hernando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Candido Oso in the 10th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Marquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Northern California's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cebollitas F.C. the free kick. The supporters of Cebollitas F.C. booed when Northern California was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fidel Hernando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Candido Oso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Cebollitas F.C.'s goalkeeper Eriberto Enmanuel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carmelo Oihan. Northern California's Fidel Hernando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Urtun in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Angelo Estebe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 25 minutes into the game, Eloy Urtun cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Fidel Hernando was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 0-3 became the score in the 27th minute when Candido Oso elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Northern California's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Oso came free, but Fidel Hernando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Estebe in the 36th minute of play forced Cebollitas F.C.'s goalkeeper Eriberto Enmanuel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fidel Hernando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Candido Oso in the 39th minute of the match. In the 41st match minute, Northern California was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Santo to maneuver through the defense. Eriberto Enmanuel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Estebe in the 44th minute of play. Fidel Hernando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Candido Oso in the 47th minute of play. The Northern California players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cebollitas F.C. were winning 0-3.

With a little luck, Northern California's Fidel Hernando got control of the ball when Candido Oso tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Candido Oso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fidel Hernando. That made the score 0-4 in the 56 minute of play. In the 60th minute, Arnaldo Marquez made a precise shot to the right of Eriberto Enmanuel. Cebollitas F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. The supporters of Cebollitas F.C. booed when Northern California was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmelo Oihan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 68 minutes, Luisito Txurio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Northern California and the Cebollitas F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eriberto Enmanuel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angelo Estebe went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. Cebollitas F.C. were furious when Candido Ramos was red carded, 89 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cebollitas F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! Cebollitas F.C.:s Eriberto Enmanuel showed great skill when he stopped Carmelo Oihan:s penalty. Fidel Hernando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eloy Urtun, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Eriberto Enmanuel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Estebe in the 96th minute of play. Angel Teofilio's late challenge caught a Cebollitas F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Angel Teofilio helped the player get up and apologised. When the match was over Cebollitas F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Northern California throughout the match.
