In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quebra Ossos FC's goalkeeper Ronaldão dos Santos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 12 minutes into the match, Quebra Ossos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Oso came free, but Ronaldão dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Quebra Ossos FC's Sílvio Corrêa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eriberto Enmanuel. Eriberto Enmanuel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After having played for 22 minutes, Betão Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quebra Ossos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betão Marinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute Candido Oso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldão dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Cebollitas F.C. defense, Sílvio Corrêa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eriberto Enmanuel. The Cebollitas F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eriberto Enmanuel should have stopped the shot. Eriberto Enmanuel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Betão Marinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Candido Oso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronaldão dos Santos having to make a save. Ronaldão dos Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolando Mero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sílvio Luís Matorin fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quebra Ossos FC's protests and gave Sílvio Luís Matorin a yellow card for diving instead. Sílvio Luís Matorin hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Betão Marinho made the kick off in the second half. When Carlos Augusto Galvão came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Quebra Ossos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Augusto Galvão couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Betão Marinho in the 55th minute of play forced Cebollitas F.C.'s goalkeeper Eriberto Enmanuel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eriberto Enmanuel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murillo Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
