The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gaston Gonzalez during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amedeo Faccio in the 55th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Amedeo Faccio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Taffarel was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 59th minute of the match Š¢σяpiσиŠ got a corner. Marquês de Herval's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Amedeo Faccio ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Amedeo Faccio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dida Taffarel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 61st match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Endura to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd minute of the match Amedeo Faccio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dida Taffarel skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Š¢σяpiσиŠ's Emílio Cordeiro got control of the ball when Alfredo Martins tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th minute Alfredo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Cordeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 played minutes Š¢σяpiσиŠ got a freekick which was hit by Peiter Mora. Emílio Cordeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 71st minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Moussa Kabre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amedeo Faccio, 74 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. But to his dismay, Meriç Nurkan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Š¢σяpiσиŠ's Emílio Cordeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Martins in the 89th minute of play. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Meriç Nurkan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Š¢σяpiσиŠ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marquês de Herval had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
