Andres Lastur made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Venancio Emesto sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martin Jax in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Óscar Cordoba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Martin Jax's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Óscar Cordoba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. GERLIROJO Ψ's Roger Bouget quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Carlo Crema, made in the 33rd minute of the game. Óscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Jax, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. When Carlo Crema fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting de Gijón's protests and gave Carlo Crema a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 minutes of play, GERLIROJO Ψ's Martin Jax made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Óscar Cordoba was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martin Jax to make the kick off. Martin Jax who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Óscar Cordoba when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Óscar Cordoba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's Matias Bilintx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andres Lastur narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genaro Tauro in the 62nd minute of the match. GERLIROJO Ψ's Epifanio Ibañez was substituted for Martin Jax. Epifanio Ibañez received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Óscar Cordoba came out and tried to block the shot, but Epifanio Ibañez slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 72nd minute. GERLIROJO Ψ's Andres Lastur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venancio Emesto in the 75th minute of play. Andres Lastur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Maradona, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. When Sporting de Gijón's Matias Bilintx in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Óscar Cordoba was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Epifanio Ibañez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 92 minute of play. In the 97th minute, Epifanio Ibañez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GERLIROJO Ψ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. GERLIROJO Ψ's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
