Jan Weinands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Grabiel in the 18th minute of the match. Palmitas FC were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Oegstgeest Excelsior's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vicente Leocadio took the corner. Vicente Leocadio made a great header on Palmitas FC's corner, it was just that Oegstgeest Excelsior's Jan Weinands managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 47th minute, Bob Paauwe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vicente Leocadio was the one to do the kick off. Bob Paauwe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Rigoberto Ordono tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Robin Lokin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rigoberto Ordono. Palmitas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robin Lokin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2.
