In the 7th minute Sigvard Klack shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Pérez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdir Pérez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edvin Gullesson in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Ickeluss's Sigvard Klack got a free kick in the 10th minute. Valdir Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigvard Klack, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute of the match FC Ickeluss got a corner. União Verde FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Per-Arne Berglund ran over to the corner to take the kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Walter Henriksson advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-2 in the 15th minute. União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walter Henriksson in the 20th minute of play. Edvin Gullesson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdir Pérez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvin Gullesson in the 30th minute of play. Valdir Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvin Gullesson, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 31 minutes into the game, Edvin Gullesson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Valdir Pérez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 36th minute, Allan Beckman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valdir Pérez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 43 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edvin Gullesson came free, but Valdir Pérez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Walter Henriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laércio Damião made a kick off. Aleksander Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademir Guia in the 51st minute of play. A hard shot 53 in the game by Allan Beckman from a close distance when the talented Valdir Pérez managed to make a qualified save. União Verde FC's players were relieved. União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save União Verde FC from getting a goal against them. When Agnaldo Tinoco fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored União Verde FC's protests and gave Agnaldo Tinoco a yellow card for diving instead. After 61 minutes of play, FC Ickeluss's Allan Beckman made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdir Pérez was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Allan Beckman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Henriksson in the 67th minute of play forced União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edvin Gullesson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the game, Vladimir Motta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. União Verde FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Ickeluss the free kick. The supporters of FC Ickeluss booed when União Verde FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Valdir Pérez managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when FC Ickeluss's Allan Beckman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 82 minutes into the match, Edvin Gullesson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Valdir Pérez, 0-7. Valdir Pérez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Henriksson in the 85th minute of the match. Valdir Pérez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walter Henriksson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Luis Pereira fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored União Verde FC's protests and gave Luis Pereira a yellow card for diving instead. Jorge Mendonça hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. When Allan Beckman came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the FC Ickeluss fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Allan Beckman couldn't finish the play. Walter Henriksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Valdir Pérez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
