The supporters of Merusca F&P - CIMZ booed when Batalhão do Peçanha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barr Eira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Raúl Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Epaminondas Baba in the 9th minute of play. Rafael Couto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Petr Čech made a huge save. Raúl Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ma Kuan Yun in the 17th minute of play. When Rafael Couto came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Merusca F&P - CIMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Couto couldn't finish the play. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Couto in the 22nd minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Batalhão do Peçanha's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Couto came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute Arnaldo Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raúl Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Raúl Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Epaminondas Baba in the 30th minute of play. Raúl Cabral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnaldo Tróia's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Batalhão do Peçanha's goalkeeper Petr Čech had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael Couto. Petr Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Couto in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The referee ignored Batalhão do Peçanha's protests and gave Eppo Pollmann a yellow card for diving instead. The corner ended in Marcinho Sabóia almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Batalhão do Peçanha's Petr Čech did a great save. Florian Capasso might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petr Čech. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florian Capasso ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 66th minute Florian Capasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 68 minutes, Ma Kuan Yun made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Raúl Cabral tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
