The audience thought a goal was coming when Kyle Thake got free with Hamílton Loyola in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hamílton Loyola was out of position in the 5 minute of play, and Olgierd Dawiec capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Olgierd Dawiec really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Richard Lentini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harald Teissen, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horea Savin in the 10th minute of play forced Floriana Celtics's goalkeeper Richard Lentini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Floriana Celtics defense, Andi Metzler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Richard Lentini. The Floriana Celtics fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Richard Lentini should have stopped the shot. Hamílton Loyola made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Olgierd Dawiec sent off a good shot on target. In the 19th match minute, Floriana Celtics was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giorgio Caruana to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Floriana Celtics's zone, Andi Metzler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richard Lentini came out of the goal and Andi Metzler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Godwin Montesin charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Godwin Montesin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of ᴷᴬᴮᴵᴺᴵsTOP⑪™ booed when Floriana Celtics was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godwin Montesin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Floriana Celtics's Alex Testaferrata Viani came free and shot a quick shot against goal 26 minutes in the game, fortunately Hamílton Loyola had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Andi Metzler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Richard Lentini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Kyle Thake got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38thth minute of the game Kyle Thake who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ᴷᴬᴮᴵᴺᴵsTOP⑪™'s Hamílton Loyola was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The corner led Floriana Celtics's Alex Testaferrata Viani to fire away a dangerous shot which Hamílton Loyola despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harald Teissen in the 42nd minute of play forced Floriana Celtics's goalkeeper Richard Lentini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Harald Teissen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Richard Lentini managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when ᴷᴬᴮᴵᴺᴵsTOP⑪™'s Andi Metzler fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 62nd minute Alex Testaferrata Viani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamílton Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hamílton Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Thake, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kyle Thake couldn't finish the play. Hamílton Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Thake, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. The audience was convinced that Kyle Thake's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hamílton Loyola was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Hamílton Loyola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robby Baggio in the 85th minute of play. Floriana Celtics's Richard Lentini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Falk Scheufens in the 87th minute of play. With a little luck, Floriana Celtics's Richard Lentini got control of the ball when Andi Metzler tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Andi Metzler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Floriana Celtics's Robby Baggio got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
