Manchester United FC's Edwin van der Sar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester United FC from getting a goal against them. In the 8th minute Eero Uusipaavalniemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of GuateFortín booed when Manchester United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iiro Riksman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edwin van der Sar made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Stanyo Búnkov sent off a good shot on target. Taisto Pentsinen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 24th minute, Davide Beckham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zico Zellier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sven-Edvin Jansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwin van der Sar having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Davide Beckham came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Manchester United FC were awarded a corner. Eero Uusipaavalniemi went to the cornerflag to take it. Manchester United FC's Alfred Laulaja was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nery Pumpido in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 31 minutes of play, Manchester United FC's Alfred Laulaja made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nery Pumpido was left in no man's land by his defense there! 34 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stanyo Búnkov. Edwin van der Sar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stanyo Búnkov in the 38th minute. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 40th minute, but Edwin van der Sar got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Manchester United FC hanging dry this time. GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eero Uusipaavalniemi in the 47th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eero Uusipaavalniemi made a kick off. 0-2 became the score in the 51st minute when Taisto Pentsinen elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Sven-Edvin Jansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GuateFortín fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. GuateFortín made a substitution. Eliseo Umanzor replaced Máximo Perrone. Manchester United FC made a substitution. Erkki Virta replaced Akseli Ilola. Eero Uusipaavalniemi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nery Pumpido having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Taisto Pentsinen came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iiro Riksman kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Manchester United FC's Erik Cantona was substituted for Taisto Pentsinen. After 75 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Iiro Riksman. In the 76th match minute, Manchester United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iiro Riksman to maneuver through the defense. Nery Pumpido was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Valdemar Kuoppala showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 79 minute of play. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eero Uusipaavalniemi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Davide Beckham came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erik Cantona hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Cantona in the 92nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Valdemar Kuoppala managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar Kuoppala was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nery Pumpido breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The GuateFortín fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Manchester United FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
