After 7 minutes of play, Legia Stavanger's Kristoffer Løkkeberg made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Baiardo Combarros was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Legia Stavanger's zone, Mancio Rapela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stein Naas came out of the goal and Mancio Rapela tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edvin Vedå hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Baiardo Combarros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Markus Tømmervik went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Mancio Rapela struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Stein Naas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caaguazu. In the 28th match minute, Legia Stavanger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thorbjørn Stølen to maneuver through the defense. Caaguazu were furious when Felix Olloa was red carded, 31 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Baiardo Combarros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Markus Tømmervik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jon-Erik Boge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Baiardo Combarros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Markus Tømmervik in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Markus Tømmervik in the 45th minute of play forced Caaguazu's goalkeeper Baiardo Combarros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edvin Vedå kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. In the 48th match minute, Caaguazu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fortunato Barcaiztegui to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The ball had pretty good speed, but Baiardo Combarros firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 64th match minute, Caaguazu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gomesano Cantillo to maneuver through the defense. Gartzea Arvelo charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gartzea Arvelo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
