With a little luck, U21 Costa Rica's Mainor Martinez got control of the ball when Viktor Bodrogi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute, Zoltán Solti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bernardo Saborio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Csaba Kossuth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Mainor Martinez made a huge save. Viktor Bodrogi took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mainor Martinez. Mainor Martinez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Keylor Cubero was the one to do the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, U21 Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Miklós Bodnár came free, but Mainor Martinez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
