Rene Austin was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Steve Yzerman capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Steve Yzerman really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stefan Mathiassen got free with Rene Austin in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Antonello Anzolin charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antonello Anzolin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th minute Esteban Ignado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Austin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of FRANK booed when Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fumo Pedrais didn't get a good kick on the ball. Célio Queirós ran back to his position shaking his head. But to his dismay, Célio Queirós quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Esteban Ignado to strike the kick off in the second half. Rene Austin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Mathiassen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute Célio Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 minutes of play, FRANK's Roald Engebakken made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rene Austin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
